Welcome to Carden Third Grade Math!

Curriculum

During September we will study Unit 1 on Numbers to 10,000.  We will also begin Unit 2 on Addition and Subtraction.  A detailed description of those units is available on the Third Grade Curriculum section of my website.

Homework

Please expect math homework on every school day.  The assigned work is due at the start of the next school day unless otherwise noted.  Please check your log and the Third Grade Independent Practice section of my website for daily homework assignments.

Tests

This month,  I have scheduled the first Singapore math test for Friday, 9/18/20.

It will be on Unit 1: Chapter 1, “Thousands, Hundreds, Tens, and Ones”, and Chapter 2, “Number Patterns”.  To better prepare for this test, please download the Practice tests from our websites.  These completed Practice tests should be turned in for a point in the Effort Grade.

I  have also tentatively scheduled tests on:

Friday, 9/18/20 Unit 1 Chapter 1:Thousands, Hundreds, Tens, and Ones.

Friday 9/18/20 Unit 1 Chapter 2: Number Patterns

Friday, 9/25/20 Unit 1: Chapter 3, “Rounding Numbers”.  

Friday, 10/2/20-Unit 2: Chapter 1, “Mental Calculation”.  Practice tests for those tests will become available before each test.

There will also be weekly Computation Drills.
