HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the upcoming holidays!

The First Graders have been busy learning the addition and subtraction facts.  Please have your child work on memorizing these facts daily! This month we will have "Memory Drills" on adding 5 to 0-12,  adding 0-5 to 0-12 and adding 6 to 0-12. We will also have "Memory Drills" on subtracting 5 from 5-17 , subtracting 0-5 from 0-17, and subtracting 6 from 6-18.   Please have your child study these facts at least 10 minutes a day!

During December we will complete Unit 6 on Numbers 0 to 20 and may begin Unit 7 on Shapes. If you would like a more detailed description of those units, please refer to the First Grade Curriculum section on my website.

I have tentatively scheduled tests on:

Thursday, December 3rd-Unit 6 Chapter 1 Test on Numbers To 20: Counting & Comparing.

Thursday, December 10th- Unit 6 Chapter 2 Test on Addition & Subtraction.

Thursday, December 17th-No Singapore Test. Just Drills.

Please encourage your child to complete the practice tests before each test.  This will better prepare them. The Practice Tests are available on the First Grade Practice Test section of my website.  I have been very pleased with all the Extra Practice that has been completed! Please continue to look each week at the Practice Tests section for new worksheets.
