Welcome to First Grade Math!

My name is Donna Brunasso.  I am the Kindergarten through Third Grade Math teacher and Math Department Head.  You can contact me at:

 I strongly recommend that every student completes the Practice Tests and Practice Drills each week and return them for a point in Effort.

In First Grade Math, the most important skill you must attain is the ability to quickly and accurately recall math facts.  The addition facts range from 0+0=0 to 12+12=24.  The subtraction facts range from 0-0=0 to 24-12=12.  These facts must be memorized!!  Daily practice at home with these facts is needed!  

Tests

There will be several Math Facts Drills and at least one Singapore Math Test each week.  Tests are usually on Thursdays. Online students need to return the completed tests to Carden by 3:30 P.M.  I strongly encourage students to complete a Practice Test before each test..  They are in the Practice Test Section on my website.  

Math Academic Support

Math Academic Support is by invitation only.  For First Graders it is usually  from 2:00 p.m to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  If needed , I may ask about different times.  I will make arrangements with you and the Homeroom Teacher.
