Welcome To 2nd Grade Math!

Curriculum

During September we will study Unit 1 on Numbers to 1,000.  We will also begin Unit 2 on Addition and Subtraction. A detailed description of those units is available on the Second Grade Curriculum section of my website.

Homework

Please expect math homework on every school day.  The assigned work is due at the start of the next school day unless otherwise noted.  Please check your log and the Second Grade Independent Practice section of my website for daily homework assignments.

Tests

I scheduled the first Singapore test for Friday, 9/18/20.  It is Unit 1: Chapter 1 on, "Looking Back at Numbers to 1,000. "  To better prepare for this test, please download the Practice Test from my website.  The completed practice test should be turned in for a point in Effort.

I have also tentatively scheduled tests this month on:

Friday, September 25th- Unit 1: Chapter 2 and 3 on "Hundreds, Tens, and Ones"& "Comparing Numbers".

Friday, October 2nd-Unit 2: Chapter 1 on "Meanings of Addition and Subtraction".

Friday, October 9th-Unit 2 : Chapter 2 on “Addition Without Renaming”.

There will also be weekly Computation Drills. Practice the math facts daily!

Practice test for those tests will become available before each test.
