HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thank you all for your generous gifts, I really appreciate them!  I am also thankful for the gift of teaching your children! I hope you all are having a wonderful Winter Break and are excited to begin a new year.

The Kindergartners have been busy learning about size, length, & measuring.  During January, we will complete Unit 7 on Length, Unit 8 on Weight, Unit 9 on Capacity, and Unit 10 on Comparing Sets.  At the end of January, we will begin Unit 11 on Comparing Numbers. If you would like an outline of these units, please refer to the Kindergarten Curriculum section of my website.  

During January the Kindergarteners will be working on addition and subtraction using pictures.  The Kindergartners will have weekly Drills on these facts.  It would benefit your child if you start having them memorize the addition facts ranging from 0+0=0 to 10+10=20.  Also have them work on the subtraction facts ranging from 0-0=0 to 20-10=10.  Please have your child work on these facts at least ten minutes a day at home. Many parents like having flash cards in teh car for children to study.
